Self-threading needles, also known as blind needles, feature a special, open, and springy eye. They are relatively easy to thread, as the taut thread only needs to be pulled through the opening at the very top of the eye, where it is then held in place. This means that even people with visual impairments have no trouble threading them. In addition to this special, burr-free eye, this needle meets the familiar quality standards of a classic sewing needle, such as a uniform, non-porous surface for smooth gliding, balanced spring hardness, and a long, particularly slender tapered point.
